Pregnant people often face added judgment, scrutiny, and even punishment for their actions during pregnancy, especially within the medical and legal systems.

And an important report was released just this week, The Rise of Pregnancy Criminalization by nonprofit Pregnancy Justice. It shows that from January 2006 through June 2022, police and prosecutors have investigated, arrested, and prosecuted pregnant people at an accelerating pace, often on the pretext of protecting “unborn life.”

We should be free to fully control our bodies, lives, & future, including when we are pregnant. Please read and share this new report that exposes and offers solutions to the alarming trend of pregnancy criminalization.

Cheers to Abortion Access with Our Justice

Support UnRestrict Minnesota partner Our Justice at Fair State Brewing Cooperative to raise a glass to funding abortion access! From 6 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, September 28, $1 of each pour will go to support their work funding abortion.

UnRestrict Minnesota in the News: Prism

Even after a historic legislative session in Minnesota, our work to expand abortion access continues.

UnRestrict Minnesota Campaign Director Abena Abraham recently published an op-ed in Prism, a national publication. In it she writes:

“Passing legislation to protect and expand access is an enormous victory, but it cannot be where the fight ends. Even with key legal obstacles out of the way, like mandatory misinformation and harmful wait times, access to this essential care is not always straightforward. The next step is removing systemic barriers to access driven by race, socioeconomic status, immigration status, and geography. Abortion care must be available to everyone who needs it, no matter how much they make or where they live.”
