St. Paul, MN – Today, the Minnesota House voted down HF 24 and HF 25, two harmful anti-abortion bills that would jeopardize the integrity of Minnesota’s healthcare system and harm pregnant people across the state. These bills fail to acknowledge that pregnant Minnesotans have the right to make decisions about their own bodies, their families, and their futures, and that medical professionals should be trusted to provide appropriate care and counseling.

Iman Hassan with Unrestrict Minnesota, issued the following statement:

“Today’s vote shows that Minnesotans trust pregnant people to make their own decisions and to access the care they need without interference. These bills were designed to undermine that trust, perpetuate harmful myths, and manipulate vulnerable individuals into continuing a pregnancy against their will. The Legislature’s focus should be on increasing access to unbiased, medically accurate healthcare—especially for low-income and vulnerable pregnant people—not on using state resources to deceive, shame, or coerce.”
