We’re back from our summer break! It’s been a couple of weeks—and we’re thrilled to bring you a raft of updates, coalition event announcements, and opportunities to get involved!
Supreme Court Punts Decision on Emergency Abortion Care
On June 27, just before its summer recess, the U.S. Supreme Court took a significant step in a key abortion rights case. Rather than issuing a definitive ruling, the Court decided not to resolve whether state laws banning abortion override federal mandates for emergency care at hospitals receiving federal funding.
Gender Justice’s experts unpack this decision on The Gender Justice Brief podcast, discussing why the Court chose not to decide, the arguments presented, the impact on patients (including those airlifted out of Idaho during the case), and the ongoing public health implications.

EVENT: How to Get an Abortion in Minnesota

Figuring out how to get an abortion can be a confusing, intimidating, and emotional process, but it doesn’t have to be. Knowledge is power, and resource-sharing is essential.
Join the Minnesota Abortion Action Committee and Gender Justice, Our Justice, and Robbinsdale Clinic for a night of knowledge sharing, discussion, community building, and trivia all about the logistical, legal, financial and medical aspects of getting an abortion in Minnesota.
Childcare available on site. Food and drinks available for purchase from La Doña Cervecería.
Post-Abortion Support Workshop with Our Justice and the SPIRAL Collective
Everyone loves someone who has had an abortion. How can we best support our loved ones through that experience? This is the focus of an upcoming session of Our Justice’s emotionally supportive, judgment free, post-abortion support group, EMERGE.
Whether you’ve had an abortion and want to share your perspective or you have never had an abortion but want to support a loved one through the experience, you are invited to participate in this session led by an experienced SPIRAL Collective abortion doula in an abortion-positive space focused on healing, emotional care, and stigma-busting.
Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 6-8 pm in the Twin Cities (location provided upon registration).
