Crisis pregnancy centers (also sometimes called pregnancy resource centers or anti-abortion centers) are organizations that pose as women’s health centers. Using deceptive advertising practices, such as misleading names like “Options for Women” and “Pregnancy Choices,” they lure in people facing unplanned pregnancies with the goal of delaying real pregnancy or abortion care.
Anti-abortion centers are often run by people without a medical license or training, and give out biased counseling and false medical information under the appearance of being a real health care provider.
